What is SEO + Why is it important?
Search Engine Optimisation, SEO, is the process of improving your online presence, and ranking higher on Google’s search results page.
Today if we’re looking for information, the chances are that we’ll search the internet. Google processes over 3.5 billion searches per day, 63% of them from mobile phones. When people are searching for information related to the products/services you provide, it’s crucial they find you + not your competition.
They key of how to do this is in understanding what people are searching for online, the answers they are seeking, the words they’re using, and the type of content they wish to consume. By analysing search data + developing initiatives to strengthen content and user experience, we can boost your organic website traffic, and increase conversions (phone calls, downloads, or purchases).
The two graphs show data from a website I have recently worked on - illustrating organic search impressions, and website traffic. An evergreen content strategy, bolstered with improvements to the website structure and performance, resulted in huge SEO gains to their local and national results.
By providing useful + informative content that truly helped users, we managed to both attract users to the website (81% of site traffic comes from new visitors); and have them stay and browse the website (1min 53secs average session duration, and low bounce rate). The annual website traffic increased by 180%, and the website now generates an average of 10 high value leads per week.
